SERMON SEEDS ARCHIVES

ROMANS

Through no fault of our own, about 5 years of Sermon Seeds was               deleted from the Website of the First Baptist Church.

We decided that it was time to begin archiving them in a different way.

Please be patient as we gradually archive these outlines.

ROMANS 1:14-17 – RESOLVED!

The Apostle Paul was resolved to win souls to Christ.  We should have the same attitude he had when he said:

I AM DEBTOR! Romans 1:14

I AM READY! Romans 1:15

I AM NOT ASHAMED! Romans 1:15-16

ROMANS 5:1-9 – THE BLESSINGS OF FAITH

In Romans 5:1-9 we have a summary of some of the many blessings that we have through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

PEACE WITH GOD – Vs. 1

  • A person who is not saved is at war with God. Ephesians 2:2-3, Romans 1:18-19,                 Psalm 7:11, John 8:44
  • When a person trusts Christ as his Savior, the war is over. God declares us righteous because the price for our sins has been paid. Colossians 1:20-22

ACCESS BY FAITH – Vs. 2

  • We have access by faith into the very presence of God. Mark 15:38, Romans 8:15-16, Hebrews 4:15-16, Hebrews 10:19-22

REJOICING IN HOPE – Vs. 2

  • You and I should be looking forward to the Resurrection of the Dead.                                               1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, 1 Corinthians 15:51-58
  • The “hope of the glory of God” is described in Romans 8:29, 1 Peter 1:13, and 1 John 3:2-3

REJOICING IN SUFFERING – Vss. 3-4

CONFIDENCE THROUGH LOVE – Vs. 5

  • The secret to rejoicing and confidence is the love of God “poured into our hearts”.
  • The secret to having the love of God “poured into our hearts” is the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Galatians 5:22-23
  • The Holy Spirit is the gift of God to all believers. John 14:15-18, Romans 8:9

OVERWHELMED BY GRACE – Vss. 6-9

  • Vs. 6 – God acted in love towards us before we ever sinned by sending Christ to die for us.
  • Vs. 7 – Although it does happen, it is unusual when a person will die for another.
  • Vs. 8 – God showed us how much he loves us by dying for us.
  • Vs. 9 – Yes, we are declared righteous by faith (Vs. 1), but we are justified by faith based on the shed blood of Christ.
  • We need not fear the wrath of God to come. John 3:36, Revelation 20:15

ROMANS 10:9-10, 13-17 – NO TIME FOR SILENCE

There are times when it is right to be silent, especially when words will needlessly hurt someone. There are other times when it is wrong to be silent, especially when someone is in danger, and words would warn. When it comes to the sharing of the Gospel of  Jesus Christ, today is no time for silence.

THE MESSAGE OF SALVATION - Vss. 9-10,13

THE METHOD OF EVANGELISM - Vss. 14, 17 (Preaching of the Word of God)

THE MANDATE FOR MISSIONS - Vss. 14-15

THE MISTAKE OF (SOME) HEARERS - Vs. 16 – They are ashamed of the Gospel.
