IT’S A BOY! – Matthew 1:21-23, Luke 1:31-35 

HIS NAME: SAVIOR – Matthew 1:21, Luke 1:31

  • Joshua – ‘Jehovah will save.’, or ‘Jehovah Saves.’
  • Matthew 1:21 – The issue is sin. Isaiah 64:6
  • The promise of a Savior begins Genesis 3:15
  • The Savior accomplished salvation through His sacrificial death, burial and resurrection. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, 2 Corinthians 5:21

HIS IDENTITY: GOD! – Matthew 1:22-23, Luke 1:34-35

  • “God with Us” – Matthew 1:22-23, John 1:1-5, 14
  • “Son of the Highest” – Luke 1:31-33
  • “Son of God” – Luke 1:34-35, Isaiah 9:6

HIS KINGDOM: ETERNAL, THRONE OF DAVID – Luke 1:32-33
